Ten netball teams will line up at the Bev Burrows Courts this Saturday to play for premiership glory when Narrabri Netball Association hosts its 2025 campaign grand final day.
There will be five matches contested after the grand finalists were determined following last Saturday’s semi-finals.
The A-grade decider will be played between the two top-ranked teams after Namoi Mii Mii Memorial and Tourist Tornadoes both won their respective semi-final matches.
Namoi Mii Mii Memorial prevailed by default as the minor premiers received a forfeit from the fourth-placed Pharmacy Ferns, while the Tourist Tornadoes outscored The Grubs 61-32.
A tight and entertaining contest is expected between those two sides on Saturday after the Tornadoes won their most recent clash with Namoi Mii Mii Memorial 23-20 last month.
The B-grade grand final will also be played between the top-ranked teams after Hot Shots and Goal Diggers progressed automatically.
Hot Shots won the B-grade minor premiership, which locked them into a grand final spot, while Goal Diggers’ preliminary final clash with Boggy Roos ended up being a forfeit.
Hot Shots and Goal Diggers met in a minor premiership battle last month that the Hot Shots won 29-22.
The C-grade under-13-16 division grand final will see Wee Waa Mavericks and Wee Waa Weaponz battle in a first-versus-second clash.
The Mavericks were the minor premiers and went straight through to the decider, and the Sapphires forfeited their semi-final contest on Saturday.
The Weaponz finished second, just one win behind the Mavericks and five wins ahead of semi-final opponents Gyattastic, but they were made to work hard for their victory as they prevailed 29-28 in the closest game of the day.
The junior under-11-13 division grand final is the only one in which the two top-ranked teams on the ladder will not meet on Saturday.
Wee Waa’s Ag Econ Thunderbirds were the minor premiers and they got the job done in the semi-final as they prevailed 16-9 over Swifts, however, fellow Wee Waa team the Vast Diesel Services Firebirds went down 15-13 against the third-placed Giants in the other semi-final.
There was an all-Wee Waa semi-final in the junior under-9/10 division, which saw the top-ranked Hutcheon and Pearce Swifts take down AgnVET Rural Vixens 10-5, while the other semi-final saw second-placed Rubies edge out Diamonds 6-5. Those results saw the Swifts and the Rubies go through to grand final day.
Saturday’s action will get underway with the under-9/10 grand final from 10.30am and will be followed by the under-11-13 decider at 11.30am, the C-grade under-13-16 decider at 1pm, the B-grade decider at 2.30pm, and the A-grade decider at 4pm.
A junior awards presentation will be held after the under-11-13 game and a senior presentation will be held after the A-grade match.
