The latest water testing conducted by Narrabri Shire Council shows PFAS levels as undetectable.

Council continues to conduct monthly PFAS testing on the Narrabri town water supply. Testing showed that PFHxS, PFOS, PFOA and PFBS chemicals were not detected. In an update, council said this means that the town water supply continues to be safe for consumption.

The Tibberena and Killarney bores remain switched off after testing in early July showed Namoi Reservoir levels slightly above current guidelines (PFOS level of 9 ng/L – just above the new Australian Drinking Water Guidelines of 8 ng/L).

Council will continue to test the water supply monthly and report back to residents.

NSW Health continues to recommend that private bore owners consider testing their groundwater.
