Many people know women members of the community who are quietly working away for the benefit of others.

These are the kinds of people that SIAHTO recognises each year with the Woman of the Year award.

If you know someone you feel deserves recognition, perhaps working as a volunteer in one or more organisations, or is simply a ‘living treasure’ for her help to her family and others, SIAHTO would like to see her nominated for the award.

The group first presented Woman of the Year in 1982 and has awarded the honour every year since.

A nominee for the award must be a resident of Narrabri Shire and be dedicated and committed to her family and the community.

Nomination forms are available from Lisa Dee’s Boutique and Northern Inland Credit Union.

Recent awardees include Helen Dugdale, Dawn Armstrong, Cheryl Hennessy, Jess Voysey, Doreen Baldwin and last year’s recipient Joanne Gordon.

Award recipients across the years have come from all walks of life.

Nominations will close on Friday, October 3.

For further information on the awards, please contact Trish 0412 924 200, Pat 0456 124 593 or Ann 0407 924 765.

Completed forms can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to PO Box 410 Narrabri NSW 2390.
