Council delegates determined until October; Call for equal distribution of roles

Narrabri Shire Council has appointed its delegates to organisations and committees until the next meeting to be held in October.

While appointing delegates, a councillor also voiced concerns with the previous unequal distribution of councillors serving in the various roles.

“It puts an awful lot of pressure on the remaining councillors,” Cr Jansson told the meeting.

“I would like it to be noted that as councillors we have accepted a responsibility for fair and equitable distribution of roles.”

Cr Jansson suggested the mayor Darrell Tiemens write to the councillors explaining the responsibility of involvements on the various committees and organisations council appoints delegates as its representative.

Cr Tiemens described Cr Jansson’s comments as very fair and said he agreed wholeheartedly.
