So, our government is planning on phasing out diesel and using canola and other crops to make fuel.

Will this so called ‘green’ fuel be able to run tractors, headers and the myriads of other machinery now using diesel?

Are the laws going to change to allow farmers to clear land to grow these crops?

I can’t even hazard a guess as to how many more hectares would be needed to grow so many more tonnes of canola, plus the weather dictates the success or otherwise of farming.

Has that been factored in to the 1.1 billion dollars Mr Albanese is quoting.

At present it is impossible to get permission to clear land to grow crops that feed the nation and beyond.

This sounds to me like another ‘pie in the sky’ scheme to win votes from like minded voters.

As the world population increases, more land will be needed to grow food first-how will this be achieved if an enormous amount of farming country will be earmarked for this so -called green fuel.

I wonder who will pay for adapting all the machinery that currently uses diesel.

The average farmer battles to make a decent living with all the constrictions forced on them as it is, so I’m quite certain any added, unnecessary expense will cripple the family farms which are the backbone of Australia.

The comment made by treasurer, Jim Chalmers, that the liquid fuels investment is aimed to deliver sustainable fuels to power our trucks, cargo ships and planes into the future, doesn’t make any mention of farm machinery or any other equipment which currently uses diesel.

I find that very odd, as without the products currently produced using diesel, there wouldn’t be much use for cargo ships or trucks.
