Princess Anne arrived in Australia this week for official visits to Queensland, NSW and Victoria. The Princess Royal visited in her role as Colonel-in-Chief to the Royal Australian Corps of Signals. The visit marked 100 years since the formation of the corps. Princess Anne was accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence. President of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, she laid a wreath at the Sydney War Cemetery. She also attended a Remembrance Service and laid a wreath at the Anzac Memorial, Sydney. On November 11, she marked Armistice Day by laying a wreath at the 7 Combat Signal Regiment Memorial at Gallipoli Barracks, Brisbane. Princess Anne previously visited Australia in 2022, opening the Sydney Royal Easter Show and paying tribute to Rural Fire service volunteers. She visited Queensland in 2014 for an agricultural conference. Her first Aussie visit was in 1970 with her mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
