Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club was proudly represented by two youngsters at Swimming New England and North West’s 2025/26 Long Course development sprint meet at Tamworth Olympic Pool on Sunday, with Charlie-Lea Hulbert and Eli Warren showcasing their talents in style.

The Narrabri duo produced some sensational results as they both returned home with medals following a combined eight podium finishes.

Ten-year-old Eli competed in the 10-years boys’ division and took part in five events. He placed fifth in his first event of the day, which was the 100-metre freestyle, and then medalled in his next event as he placed third in the 50-metre backstroke.

Next up for Eli was the 100-metre breaststroke, which he won to earn the gold medal, and he then finished fifth in the 50-metre butterfly and third in the 50-metre freestyle to end the day in superb fashion.

Eleven-year-old Charlie-Lea was in fine form at her second swim meet of the 2025/26 season after she produced a sensational medal haul in Inverell last month. She earned five medals at that event and added five more on Sunday in Tamworth.

Charlie-Lea competed in the 11-years girls’ division and medalled first-up as she placed second in the 50-metre breaststroke while also swimming her way to a 4.77-second personal best time.

She then also placed second in the 100-metre freestyle with a 4.06-second PB before winning the 50-metre backstroke with a 0.32-second PB.

The Narrabri girl was ranked sixth in the 100-metre breaststroke, but secured a fourth consecutive PB as she shaved 3.38 seconds off her time in that event, and she then ended up fourth in the 200-metre freestyle and fifth in the 50-metre butterfly.

She finished off the meet in impressive style with a second-place finish in the 100-metre backstroke and a gold medal finish in her final event of the day, the 50-metre freestyle.
