Narrabri Golf Club continues to be a happy hunting ground for aspiring female golfers, with Queenslander Justice Bosio securing a maiden professional victory at the 2026 Ford Women’s NSW Open Regional Qualifier event on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old from Brisbane was the only golfer from a field of 47 to shoot under par in both rounds of the two-day tournament as she registered back-to-back scores of 69 to finish four-under with a convincing five-shot lead ahead of second-placed South Australian Caitlin Peirce, who won the Narrabri event 12 months earlier.

Bosio had already qualified for the 2026 NSW Open after finishing as runner-up at the Dubbo tournament just last week, but she arrived in Narrabri determined to get the job done to take some momentum into 2026.

“I’d love to go one better,” she told Golf NSW after the first day’s play on Monday as she sat one shot back from the day one leader, South Australian Kristalle Blum.

“Having already qualified for the Women’s NSW Open takes the pressure off, so I can just go out there and try to get the win.”

That she did, and in sensational style as she produced some brilliant golf on Tuesday to be crowned the Narrabri Qualifier champion.

She shot four birdies, two bogeys and 12 pars on day two, and was always in the lead from the start of the second hole after she birdied the first and Blum kicked off the day with a bogey.

“Really exciting. It’s good to finally get a win under my belt after just over a year of being pro,” she told Golf NSW.

“I asked Amelia on the last hole, I had a feeling that I probably played pretty well. It was quite windy out there, and I feel like I just played really solid. She let me know that I had a five-shot lead, so I felt a little bit calmer coming down the last.”

The young gun said she felt right at home on the tricky Narrabri Golf Club course, having grown up playing at Caboolture.

“I’m from Caboolture Golf Club. We don’t have the best greens; we don’t have the best surrounds. So, I think just learning to play on a course like that, and coming out here, I kind of feel a little bit at home just knowing how to play off some interesting lies,” she said.

Bosio produced a consistent round on Monday to put herself in a position to win the event as she shot three birdies and a bogey to go with 14 parred holes as she finished the day two under.

Blum, who birdied six holes and shot three bogeys, was the only other golfer from the field to finish with red ink as she produced a thee-under score of 68.

However, once Blum bogeyed the first on day two and Bosio shot a birdie, the Queenslander was in control for the remainder of the event.

Blum also shot a triple bogey on the second to continue a horror start, but she was eventually able to regroup, and her third birdie of the day on the 11th saw her cut Bosio’s lead to three. She then shot three more bogeys on the 13th, 14th and 16th though, while Bosio birdied the 13th and 14th to essentially bring the race to an end with two holes to play.

After shooting a par round on Monday, Peirce’s 71st shot on Tuesday put her just outside the green on the 18th. A superb chip-in saw her end the day one over in second place, one shot ahead of Abbie Teasdale, Hannah Reeves and Blum, who all finished tied in third on two over after two days’ play.

Given that Bosio had already secured a place in the NSW Open with her second-place finish last week in Dubbo, the qualifying spots from the Narrabri tournament went to South Australia’s Peirce and Western Australia’s Teasdale.

Peirce was thrilled to have had more success at the Narrabri Golf Club, where she too scored her first tournament victory as a professional back in 2024, just as Slovenian Katja Pogacar’s did as well during the inaugural qualifying event in Narrabri earlier that year.

“Pretty happy. I had a good result at Narrabri last year, so it’s nice to qualify again,” Peirce told Golf NSW.

“I think this is the sort of course, if you have a few bogeys, it’s very hard to make a comeback. So I think I finished strong, which was nice.”

Before the pros took the course for their two-day tournament this week, they played a four-player ambrose event on Sunday, where they teamed up with sponsors and local golfers.

That event was won by local trio Jacki Ward, Cara Stoltenberg and Emma Maxwell, who teamed up with pro Emma Ash.
