Remember the Telegraph Hotel in the middle block of the main street? See The Courier archives on page 18 for a nostalgic look back at when the hotel closed in 2006. Back in the day when “people would spill out on to the footpath because it was so crowded” was one statement. And another “the cockies would be in the back bar and the shearers in the front. On a Saturday evening you couldn’t get in the door”. It was one of Narrabri’s iconic pubs – “I’ll meet you at the Tele”.
