Narrabri Shire Council will again offer free entry to pool facilities in Narrabri, Boggabri and Waa Waa on Australia Day.
Councillors endorsed the recommendation tabled at the final meeting of 2025, to continue the free entry arrangement.
Information tabled at the meeting noted that 436 patrons attended shire pool facilities on Australia Day in 2025.
The report also noted that a risk assessment had been undertaken regarding the use of Monster Island.
Based on the assessment’s findings, and advice from the relevant manager, council will not be able to facilitate the use of Monster Island for Australia Day activities, the business paper noted.
Narrabri Shire pools will operate within normal public holiday opening hours from 12pm to 6pm on Australia Day.
