Narrabri Bowling Club and Wee Waa Bowling Club will both return home in round four of their respective 2026 North West open gender pennant campaigns this Saturday as they look to put round three defeats behind them.

Wee Waa travelled to South Tamworth for their third-round clash against South Tamworth Gold on Saturday and went down 79 shots to 36 on the overall scoreboard, while Narrabri travelled to Bingara and were defeated 59 shots to 47.

Neither Narrabri Shire club picked up any points for the ladder after they were both unable to win any of their three rinks.

That left Narrabri at the bottom of the grade six section one ladder and Wee Waa in third place on the grade four ladder, with both teams having won once each and lost twice now at the halfway point of the season.

Narrabri led late in their away fixture at Bingara before the hosts stormed home to prevail.

Cindy Neil, Tony Redman and Scott and David Dewar went closest to getting a win for Narrabri as they lost 20 shots to 18 on their rink against Peter Walton, Judy Obryan, Colin Roberg and Stuart Dixon.

The other rinks saw Helen Woodward, Steve Daskey, Keith Stoltenberg and Len Ryan beaten 22 shots to 18 by Justin Hellmuth, Bev Roberg, David Withers and Graham McManus, and Col Armstrong, Eva Sadler, Lisa Pillar and Kevin Baguley downed 17 shots to 11 by Peter Conroy, Graham Galvin, Donald Mack and Kerry O’Bryan.

In Tamworth, Wee Waa Bowling Club were beaten comprehensively on all three rinks.

Melissa Allen, Clancy Hamilton, Chris Crutcher and Jay Hall lost 28 shots to 13 to Lucas Preston, Scott Easterman, Jeff Myers and Carl Schroeder on one rink, Charlie Thomson, Dot Dewson, Phil Lawford and Kay Dewson went down 29 shots to 13 to Linda O’Reilly, Desmond Cross, Anthony Daley and Christine Myers on another rink, and Ellis Allen, Steve Dewson, Kevin Baker and Steve Berger were outscored 22 shots to 10 on another by Cathy Verdich, Cheryl Douglas, Terry Preston and Kenneth Trow.

With only the top-ranked teams from each four-team division or section progressing, the Narrabri and Wee Waa clubs both face must-win matches this Saturday when they both welcome Club Gunnedah to their respective home greens.
