I’m all in favour of trees, but in the right place. I see on my daily commute to work across the Namoi River bridge – sorry, I mean Narrabri Creek – a flourishing gum tree growing on the roadway next to the pedestrian walkway. It’s about 700cm high at the moment but given time it will no doubt become a stately specimen. It will need a bit of pruning when it’s full size but maybe it could be relocated to the riverbank while it’s still young.
