Narrabri Shire Council has published the latest PFAS testing results for the Narrabri town water supply.

The newest results of the Namoi reservoir have shown PFAS levels as below current guidelines.

This means that the Narrabri Town Water Supply continues to be safe for consumption.

The results show that PFHxS was detected at 2ng/l, below the guideline of 30ng/l, and PFOS at 4ng/l, below the guideline of 8ng/l.

PFOA and PFBS were again not detected.

In the council update, it noted that the Tibbereena Street bore continues to supplement water supplied from the Elizabeth Street bore. The latest testing of the Elizabeth Street bore showed no detection of PFxS, PFOA or PFBS, with PFOS at 2ng/l. The Tibbereena Street bore was at 2ng/l for PFHxS and 4ng/l for PFOS (PFBS and PFOA was not detected).

The Killarney bore remains switched off with testing continuing to show the bore above current guidelines. Results from April 15 saw the bore at 35ng/l for both PFHxS and PFOS, PFBS at 6ng/l and PFOA at 2ng/l.
