The Narrabri branch of United Hospital Auxiliaries NSW has celebrated a year of fundraising success and supporting the local health service.
The Narrabri auxiliary held its annual general meeting at the Narrabri Bowling Club, with president Tricia Hadley reflecting on their achievements.
“The Narrabri branch of the United Auxiliary is working very hard and well together,” Mrs Hadley said.
The auxiliary continues to seek new members and was pleased to welcome four new people to the organisation in the past year.
“The hospital kiosk is running smoothly,” Mrs Hadley told the meeting.
“The kiosk is providing a wonderful service for our hospital staff, patients and wider community, which we could not do without our volunteers.”
The auxiliary has approved the contribution of a cuddle bed to the hospital. Cuddle beds are specially designed with families, patients and healthcare providers in mind.
Members have also approved the auxiliary to proceed with plans for a SOZO machine which measures fluid levels, body composition and tissue make-up. It is particularly important in lymphedema detection.
Raffles and 100 clubs conducted through the year added to the fundraising success in addition to income generated through the kiosk.
In April, the Agri-business Golf Day was organised by representatives of local agricultural businesses with the proceeds again going to the auxiliary.
Mrs Hadley expressed her thanks to the golf day organisers for their outstanding efforts.
Office bearers were elected on the day, with Mrs Hadley continuing as president.
Sheryl Barnes will serve as vice-president, Janet Baylis as treasurer, Kay Holland as assistant treasurer, Lyn Vaughn as secretary and Neurelle McTaggart as assistant secretary.
The auxiliary continues to seek new volunteers for the hospital kiosk, which is a crucial component of its fundraising.
Interested volunteers can contact Mrs Hadley on 0427 834 286 or Mrs Vaughn on 0427 456 654.
