The dedicated volunteers of Wee Waa’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service support group were swinging into action again on the weekend, hosting a golf day that raised more than $6,500 for the WRHS.

The annual fundraiser for the vital rescue service attracted about 50 players, who teed off in support of the important cause.

The golfers were joined by friends and family for lunch, organised by the WRHS volunteers.
The strong turnout reflected the community’s ongoing appreciation for the WRHS and its ability to get people to medical care quickly and safely.

“It was bigger than last year, we’re really grateful for the turnout,” said one of the WRHS volunteers, Andy Dewson.
“It was an enjoyable day for the community.

Andy said the auction was also a lot of fun and a success.
Zac Doring, Dom Cruickshank and Saxon Paulston took out the winning team honours, with Ben Wilson, Brendon Hatton and Chris Harnett finishing as runners-up.
Adam Hatton, Les Ross, Ashley Humphries, Jamie Crutcher, David Cruickshank and Dave Skinner.
Les Davis won nearest the pin on the 9th, while Rhonda Palmer claimed the ladies’ prize.
The men’s long drive went to Shannon Bartz, with Kate Knight taking out the ladies’ long drive.
