The Narrabri Accelerated Athletes Program squad travelled from Narrabri to Sydney for an action-packed high-performance sporting experience, allowing Narrabri High School students to see first-hand what it takes to perform at the highest level.

From touring the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles’ incredible facilities to a look behind the scenes at the NSWRL Centre of Excellence, watching the Panthers take on the Bulldogs at CommBank Stadium and experiencing the NSW Weightlifting State Championships, the NHS students were surrounded by elite athletes, coaches and sporting environments throughout the trip.

One of the highlights was spending time at the weightlifting championships including touring the competition and warm-up areas, observing elite athletes prepare and compete.

It was a fantastic opportunity for the students to ask questions, learn from athletes and see the dedication required to reach the next level.

Beyond physical activity and sport, the trip also focused on the importance of teamwork, resilience, responsibility and leadership.

The students represented Narrabri High School and NAAP with pride, embracing every opportunity, supporting one another and showing that being an athlete is about so much more than what happens on the field.

“A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the trip possible. A massive shout-out to Troy Smith from Empower Fitness, our parent supporters who gave their time, the sporting organisations and athletes who welcomed us and most importantly, our NAAP students, who made the trip such a memorable one,” said NHS.
