Across the community, there are countless women quietly giving their time, energy and care to help others.

They may be volunteers, community leaders, dedicated family members, or simply the person everyone knows they can turn to when a helping hand is needed.

Each year, Narrabri Self-Improvement and Help to Others (SIAHTO) recognises one of these remarkable women with its Woman of the Year award, an honour that has been presented annually since 1982.

SIAHTO is now calling for nominations for the next recipient.

To be eligible, nominees must be residents of Narrabri Shire and demonstrate dedication and commitment to both their family and the wider community.

Previous recipients have come from all walks of life and have made their mark through volunteering, supporting local organisations, helping neighbours and families, and contributing in countless other ways.

Recent recipients include Joan Griffiths, Joanne Gordon, Dawn Armstrong, Cheryl Hennessy, Jess Voysey, Helen Dugdale and Doreen Baldwin.

If you know a woman who deserves to be recognised for the difference she makes in the community, SIAHTO encourages you to nominate her.

Nomination forms are available from Lisa Dee’s Boutique. Nominations close tomorrow, Friday 9 October. For further information, contact Ann on 0407 924 765.

Completed nomination forms can be emailed to [email protected] or left at Lisa Dee’s Boutique, Maitland Street, Narrabri.
