$70,000 upgrade to increase seating space at emergency department

Following on from The Courier’s update regarding entry arrangements at the Narrabri Hospital emergency department, due to upgrade works, NSW Health has published further information regarding the project. The $70,000 upgrade will increase seating capacity from six to around 20 chairs by reconfiguring the existing layout and will help cater for the more than 550 patients requiring emergency care at the Narrabri emergency department each month. Bursaries awarded from Santos, CUC partnership

Ten students have shared in bursaries awarded as part of a partnership between Santos and the Country Universities Centre North West. In the second year of the bursary program, students who utilise the Narrabri centre were eligible to apply for assistance. This year’s recipients were Mackenzie Jones, Mietta Smith, Rebecca Gibbs, Rochelle Tones, Cemone Baker, Erin Flower, Sarah Gleeson, Olivia Verrier, Connie Hughes and Saleh Uddin. Mayor voices concern with Census ‘undercounting’

Narrabri Shire Council is raising concerns about population undercounting ahead of the 2026 Census, warning that inaccurate data could leave communities short-changed on vital funding and services. New councillor will be great addition to shire: Mayor

Newly-elected Narrabri Shire councillor Mark Strahle will be a great addition to council, said mayor Darrell Tiemens following last week’s declaration by the NSW Electoral Commission.
