North West businesses among finalists in regional Business NSW awards

Local businesses from Narrabri and Gunnedah shires are among the finalists announced for the 2026 New England North West Business Awards. Business NSW announced last week that 92 businesses, including 22 individuals, were finalists for the regional awards. Narrabri FC puts in a strong effort with two games in three days, but no wins

Narrabri Football Club put in a strong effort, playing two games in a week, on 26 and 29 August. On 26 August, Narrabri Elevens claimed the win over Narrabri FC 4–1. Narrabri FC awarded Charlie Butler the Domino’s Narrabri player of the match and players’ player awards. Bush Fire Danger Period brought forward in North West

DYLAN SMITHThe Bush Fire Danger Period is in place a month earlier than usual for local government areas in northern NSW, including Narrabri and Gunnedah shires. From 1 September, residents need to obtain a fire permit from the NSW Rural Fire Service before conducting any burns. Made on Fridays more than just an art classWWCACC hosts a celebration of art, friendship and Fridays

On Saturday, a dynamic and diverse mix of artists came together to launch their exhibition, Made on Fridays, at the Wee Waa Community Arts and Cultural Centre (WWCACC).
