Narrabri Shire to investigate additional pedestriancrossings in town centres

Narrabri Shire Council will investigate additional safe pedestrian crossings on the main streets of Narrabri (Maitland Street), Wee Waa (Rose Street) and Boggabri (Merton Street). The matter was raised at the August council meeting through a mayoral minute put forward by mayor Darrell Tiemens. Narrabri High School students have celebrated an outstanding result at the recent NSW Schools Merino Wether Challenge, achieving an impressive four major awards against schools from across the state. The Narrabri High School team was awarded first place in the Highest Wool Value, Zone 4; first in Highest Carcass Value, Zone 4; Champion Zone 4 and third in the Overall Carcass Value category. Water treatment plant will exceed government funding

Construction costs for a temporary PFAS treatment plant in Narrabri would “significantly” exceed funding provided by the state government, according to Narrabri Shire Council. In its latest update regarding PFAS, including testing results, the council advised that a pre-tender estimate by Public Works Advisory had determined that a plant next to the Namoi Street reservoirs would cost significantly more than the $4m provided through the NSW government’s emergency funding. Narrabri High School’s MAD Night was once again a huge success, with a full house enjoying an incredible night of music, performance and entertainment. This year, the audience was taken on a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s, featuring iconic songs including Xanadu, Don’t Stop Believin’, Money for Nothing and You’re the Voice.
