nbn continues fibre upgrade works across Narrabri

Infrastructure works are continuing across Narrabri as nbn prepares eligible homes and businesses for future upgrades to full fibre connectivity. The work is being carried out across eligible Fibre to the Node (FTTN) premises as part of nbn’s ongoing investment in regional network infrastructure. Residents may see work crews, vehicles and machinery in local streets while the works are underway. Registrations are now open for the 2026 NSW Rural Women’s Gathering, with women from across NSW invited to secure their free place at the highly anticipated event set to be held at The Crossing Theatre Narrabri on Saturday 17 October. Yellow Door set to receive grant funding boost

Member for Barwon Roy Butler has welcomed news that Wee Waa’s much-loved Yellow Door will be able to stay open for longer thanks to a grant funding boost. Wayne and Maree Wheeler retirement

Narrabri businessowners Wayne and Maree Wheeler are grateful for the community’s support after almost a lifetime in business in Narrabri. The couple recently handed over the reins of their Francis street business to son and daughter-in-law Shane and Michelle. Wayne and Maree arrived in Narrabri in 1973 while Wayne had still been working at Dalgetys. The young family had needed to find a dryer climate, and while originally planning to head to Longreach, Narrabri ended up being where they would call home and raise a family of four.
