Continued vandalism incidents at Narrabri Creek amenities

DYLAN SMITH Local amenities near Narrabri Creek are among the recent targets of vandals who have defaced community assets. The Rotary Club of Narrabri’s Selina Street shelter precinct has become the most recent victim of graffiti after the front of one of its gazebo structures was spraypainted. The toilet block at nearby Cameron Park was also recently damaged, as was Selina Street itself with the graffiti on the bitumen. Fantastic crop art and a fabulous field day

The University of Sydney, Outlook Ag and Australian Grain Technologies joined forces to host a field day on 3 September at the IA Watson Grains Research Centre and ‘Llara’ farm. This year’s theme was Innovations at Scale, with a good turnout of growers, agronomists, researchers, scientists and agricultural professionals. The event kicked off with a presentation by Nigel Hart from the Grains Research and Development Corporation, followed by AGT varietal releases. Swinging into action for the rescue chopper

The dedicated volunteers of Wee Waa’s Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service support group were swinging into action again on the weekend, hosting a golf day that raised more than $6,500 for the WRHS. The annual fundraiser for the vital rescue service attracted about 50 players, who teed off in support of the important cause. The golfers were joined by friends and family for lunch, organised by the WRHS volunteers. Celebrating 68 years of love

Charles and Annette Radford recently celebrated 68 wonderful years of marriage. The Narrabri couple, formerly of Burren Junction, are popular community members. They enjoyed the special milestone, receiving a beautiful, big bunch of flowers from family and phone calls from relatives and friends who are scattered across the country. There was also a lovely celebration at Whiddon’s Jessie Hunt residence, with flowers and, of course, a delicious cake.
