Year 10 students get a taste of HSC subjects

Wee Waa High School recently held its Orientation Week or ‘O-Week’ for year 10 students, allowing the teenagers to get a taste of the Preliminary Higher School Certificate elective subjects before making their final selections. There was a full house in the hospitality kitchen, where students rolled up their sleeves to prepare delicious fried rice and chicken skewers.

Six Wee Waa projects awarded community grants

Six local health and wellbeing projects have been selected for funding through the Wee Waa Collaborative Care Small Grants initiative, following two weeks of community voting. More than 400 votes were cast by community members to select their favourite ideas. These community-inspired projects will benefit people of all ages, and include a community garden, fun and practical workshops for young people, and free local events that build social connection and create opportunities for different generations to connect. Industry honours decades of cotton service

Two champions of the Australian cotton industry were honoured for their decades of leadership and advocacy, receiving the 2026 John Deere Service to Industry Award at the Cotton Industry Awards Dinner, held as part of the 2026 Australian Cotton Conference on the Gold Coast.
