Garden Club visits local cacti garden

A stunning garden was the venue for Narrabri Garden Club’s May meeting. Trish and Kevin Lawty are avid collectors of cacti and succulents, and many rare and unusual species take pride of place in their garden. Members enjoyed a walk around the garden and were astounded at the size of some of the cacti. Sponsors’ day celebrated at Narrabri Rugby Club | PHOTOS

Narrabri Rugby Club produced one of the most memorable bluewashes ever seen at Dangar Park when the Blue Boars defeated the Tamworth Pirates in all four grades on Saturday. The two champion clubs went head-to-head for the first time this season in the fifth round of the Central North Rugby Union campaign, and Narrabri prevailed 24-22 in third grade, 22-17 in the women’s 10s, 27-14 in reserve grade and 48-5 in first grade. Barbecue for a cause at Narrabri High School

Narrabri High School’s amazing SRC hosted a barbecue lunch on Friday, May 9 to raise money and awareness for Do It For Dolly Day, an important initiative to stand up, speak out, and support the fight against bullying. Students and staff proudly wore blue to show their support and spread the message of kindness, respect, and hope. By grabbing a sausage sandwich and wearing blue, the students were helping raise awareness and create a safer, more inclusive world for everyone. ‘Literally Illustrating’ masterclass a success

Four Narrabri High School HSC arts students attended a masterclass run by local artist Graeme Compton during the weekend of May 24-25. The classes ran for a full day on Saturday and a half-day on Sunday at the Narrabri Art and Craft Society workroom and art gallery. The event was an initiative of ArtsNational Narrabri’s annual Young Arts Award, with the project planned and implemented by Graeme.
