New Nationals MP ‘grateful for opportunity to serve electorate’

The Nationals will continue to represent the electorate of Parkes in federal parliament after the party’s candidate Jamie Chaffey was successful at the weekend’s election. Mr Chaffey, of Gunnedah, will be calling on his Labor government counterparts to respect the value of regional NSW. The Nationals’ candidate is expected to be elected to the House of Representatives for the seat once polls are officially declared. Narrabri Blue Boars kicked off their Central North Rugby Union women’s 10s premiership defence in style on Saturday when they demolished the Gunnedah Red Devils 43-5 at Dangar Park. Narrabri Blue Boars’ first grade head coach Craig Gleeson thought his men beat themselves on Saturday as they lost 24-17 against the Gunnedah Red Devils at Dangar Park. Namoi United still undefeated in NIPL first grade competition

Namoi United’s red-hot start to the Northern Inland Premier League first grade season continued on Saturday when they defeated Tamworth-based side Hillvue Rovers 3-2 at Narrabri’s Hogan Oval. The combined Narrabri/Wee Waa/Moree team lined up for the third time this season in the competition’s fifth round and they extended their winning streak to three matches to finish the day on nine points in fourth place on the Southern Conference ladder.
