Namoi United’s mighty team spirit out in full force

Namoi United Football Club had a stellar weekend, playing games at home and in Tamworth. First grade had a big win against Armidale City Westside FC, 8–1, with goals scored by Jacob Hopman, Cooper Brayshaw and Victor Matuku. Reserve grade secured a win in a tighter contest, 2–1, with goals scored by Connor Hill and Cody Shepherdson. The team then backed up, heading to Tamworth to take on the Hillvue Rovers in a round 20 fixture that was due to be played the previous weekend but was postponed because of wet weather conditions. From close junior contests to a high-scoring A-grade decider, the action-packed grand final day at Narrabri Netball Courts provided a fitting finale to another successful winter competition. Made on Fridays more than just an art classWWCACC hosts a celebration of art, friendship and Fridays

On Saturday, a dynamic and diverse mix of artists came together to launch their exhibition, Made on Fridays, at the Wee Waa Community Arts and Cultural Centre (WWCACC). The exhibition is aptly named, with the graduating Narrabri TAFE Visual Arts students meeting every Friday for class. “Made on Fridays celebrates the individual creative voices that emerged from a shared experience,” explained WWCACC coordinator Lisa Alamagro, who was also one of the graduating artists. “Different artists, different voices: one shared space,” she added. “Every Friday we came together to learn, experiment, make discoveries, and make art.” Alongside each display […]

Blue Boars claim reserve premiership in thriller

Narrabri Rugby Club has claimed its first reserve grade premiership in almost a decade after an emphatic win against Moree in Quirindi. The stage was set for a battle of the ages between the two foes, and the Blue Boars didn’t disappoint in front of the strong Narrabri crowd which made the journey down the highway.
