The Narrabri District Cricket Association T20 season began on the weekend with six matches across two days in the two grades.
In one of the three first grade games the Crossroads Hotel Cricket Club first XI scored a dominant 10-wicket victory against Tatts at Hogan Oval on Saturday.
Returning to play his first game for Crossroads since the 2015-16 season, Ryan Meppem helped his side to the huge victory against the competition’s defending champions.
Meppem plays in the NSW Premier Cricket competition, more commonly known as Sydney grade cricket, for the Gordon Cricket Club.
However with his side not playing a game on the weekend Meppem was granted a release to play for the club with which he won two first grade grand finals and a second grade premiership.
Tatts batted first and made 9-127 in 20 overs.
Meppem bowled four overs in that innings, finishing with 2-12.
It was with the bat that the 19-year-old did the most damage, scoring 69 runs from 64 balls to guide Crossroads to the win alongside Nick Tomlinson (48 from 57). Subscribe below to read a full match report.
