Narrabri’s Bourke sisters Lacey (11), Caitlan (10) and Mia (8) are three future stars of Australian tennis.
The trio have set themselves some significant goals – all three want to play in a grand slam – and at such a young age they are backing that up on the court.
Lacey, Caitlan and Mia, the daughters of Shelley and Justin Bourke, have had a successful school holidays on the court, finishing 2018 on a high and starting 2019 in stylish fashion.
In 2018 the three sisters trained at the Gunnedah Tennis Club.
The trio were among the award winners for the season.
Lacey was the under-12s girls singles winner, an under-12s girls double runner-up, and an under-12s mixed doubles winner.
Caitlan was the under-10s girls singles winner, an under-10s girls doubles winner, and an under-10s mixed doubles runner-up.
Mia was an under-10s girls doubles runner-up.
In December the three sisters all competed at the NSW State Junior Closed Championships, which was ultimately the 2018 JDS state finals.
There, Caitlan was crowned the 10-years-and-under girls state champion.
Caitlan and Mia competed together in the 10-years-and-under girls doubles and reached the semi-final.
Lacey reached the quarter final in the 12-years-and-under girls doubles and the round of 16 in the 12-years-and-under girls singles.
Later that month Lacey and Caitlan both represented South Queensland at the Queensland State Teams Carnival.
