The University of New England National Rugby Camp was hosted in Armidale last week, and the Narrabri Junior Rugby Club was represented by 19 keen young Blue Boars.

Founded in the year 2000 by the Schmude brothers, the event was drafted into ‘littlies’ (under-8s) across two days and ‘bigs’ (under-10-16s) which had the option to live-in at St Alberts college or turn up as day students over four days.

With more than 270 enrollments at the camp the kids were treated with modern drills, coaches from the NSW Waratahs as well as well-organised games of seven and 15-a-side.

Current Waratahs prop Tom Robertson met with the kids, as did Wallaroos prop Emily Robinson.

The pair shared their experiences and signed autographs.
