Narrabri High School’s Alyssa, Caitlyn and Elsie Ford and Jacqueline Collett recently represented North West at the NSWCHSSA Secondary Girls’ Cricket Championships which were held from Monday, February 18, to Thursday, February 21.

At the tournament played at Raby, near Campbelltown, the North West team placed third out of 10 teams.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Alyssa was at her brilliant best for North West.

The 16-year-old was awarded the trophy for most runs at the tournament and was named North West’s player of the tournament.

She scored 220 runs in six matches at an average of 110, topscoring with 68 not out in her fourth match.

She also gained selection into the 2019 NSWCHSSA Girls’ Cricket second XI alongside North West teammate and Oxley High School’s Lara Graham.

That side will compete at the NSW All Schools Championships which will be held in Raby from Tuesday, March 12, through to Thursday, March 14.

Elsie was another standout for the North West team. She was North West’s leading wicket taker, finishing the tournament with 10 scalps.

She produced a magnificent spell in one of North West’s T20 matches, a 10-wicket win against North Coast in the fourth match of the tournament.

In that game Elsie took 4-15 which included a hat trick.
