The Narrabri District Cricket Association’s first and second XIs were in action in Northern Inland Cricket Council competition grand finals on Sunday.

The first XI took on Gunnedah in the War Vets Cup decider, while the second XI challenged Tamworth Blue in the MA Connolly Cup final.

In both games the Pink Slugs were defeated.

In the War Vets Cup match Narrabri batted first after winning the toss and was bowled out for just 111 in the 47th over.

Gunnedah chased that down in the 33rd over to win the contest by seven wickets.

In the Connolly Cup game Tamworth Blue won the toss and batted first and made 9-223 in its 50 overs.

In reply Narrabri was bowled out for 155 in the 38th over to lose by 80 runs.
