The Narrabri Amateur Fishing Club’s 2019 carp muster will be held this Saturday and Sunday.

It will be held at The Crossing Theatre, with registration starting from 8am Saturday through to 11am on Sunday with a final weigh in at noon sharp with the presentation to follow.

Cost is only $6 for adults and $3 for children and pensioners, which includes a sausage sandwich and a drink.

Narrabri Amateur Fishing Club’s Jason Simpson, pictured right with a carp he caught late last year, joined the club six years ago and said that he had always enjoyed the annual carp muster.

He said that this weekend’s event would be another fun-filled one.

“The carp muster is a great day out, it’s cheap, and you get to catch up with friends and catch a fish and get rid of a few pests,” Simpson told The Courier.

“It’s only $6 (adults) or $3 (children and pensioners) and with that you get a sausage sandwich and a drink so it’s pretty good value anyway.

“You also have a great chance of winning a prize, you don’t even have to catch a fish to win a prize.

“We have even more prizes than last year, and by the sounds of it numbers might be down a little bit, so there’s going to be a better chance to win a prize.

“We’ll also have a raffle going and we will have activities for the kids like a casting competition and yabbie racing which we run to keep the kids entertained while we tally the numbers up.”
