For the second consecutive year and for the third time in the past three seasons the Tatts Cricket Club’s first XI was crowned the Narrabri District Cricket Association first grade champions on Saturday.

After winning the toss and batting first on the Collins Park pitch the third-ranked side made 168 runs in 45 overs.

Its opponents the top-ranked Western Imperial Razorbacks then fell for 76 runs, which saw the Tatts team win by 92 runs.

The Tatts top order provided a platform for the team’s bowlers in the first innings of the match.

Five of Tatts’ top six batsmen reached double figures to help the side set the Wee Waa-based Razorbacks 169 to chase.

It was Ryan O’Neill who then took over the match.

O’Neill ripped apart the Razorbacks’ top order, dismissing all four of the Razorbacks’ top four batsmen to make the score 4-39 after 13 overs.

He finished with 4-19 from nine overs which included three maidens to claim the player-of-the-match honour.
