An assessor is currently working with business premises owners in Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri to discuss the upgrade of their buildings.

Narrabri Shire Council has received $321,894 from the Drought Communities Program – Extension fund for the purpose of updating and repairing building facades and awnings through cosmetic improvements to buildings within the core CBD areas of the three towns.

“The Drought Communities Program grants will help Narrabri Shire Council deliver more exciting projects with benefits for the entire community” the mayor Cathy Redding said.

“This particular funding opportunity will freshen up our CBDs and hopefully encourage increased visits from local shoppers and visitors as well as attract more investors.

“The project will draw upon the services of tradespeople and suppliers locally which will not only provide employment for the duration of the project to locals but will inject income into local businesses.”
