Dead last with one win (by forfeit) and four points, the Boggabri Rugby League Football Club first grade side will be looking to put its horror 2018 season behind it this season.

On Sunday the Boggabri Kangaroos begin their Group Four Rugby League campaign when they face off against Narrabri away from home in the lone Sunday match of round one.

The game will be held at Collins Park, the same venue that saw Boggabri blown out in the final 20 minutes of a trial match only two weeks ago.

The Kangaroos took the match to Narrabri and kept the game close for the majority of the contest.

Both sides attacked with intent in the first half and showcased their promising back lines.

Boggabri trailed Narrabri 28-16 with a quarter of the match to go but let the hosts pile on the points without much resistance.

The final score finished 56-16 with the Blues scoring 28 unanswered points.

Boggabri first grade coach Shane Rampling said that the side was starting fresh on Sunday.

“The boys aren’t even thinking about last season,” Rampling said.
