Bowlers from across the region and central coast came to Narrabri on the long weekend for the annual two day Ken Druce Memorial tournament.

The tournament is a big event, an important fixture for Narrabri Bowling Club and a major economic boost for the wider community.

For many of the visitors, participation at the Ken Druce Memorial tournament is something of a tradition.

Regular competitors renew friendships, catch up with old bowls mates – and bring a welcome injection of money into Narrabri.

“We are happy to come and contribute” said one visitor, Craig Mellors, from Adamstown, who was one of the bowlers making their first trip to Narrabri.

“Narrabri is a great town.”

The adjacent Club Motor Inn, owned by Narrabri Bowling Club, and other motels accommodated the visitors.

And the bowlers enjoyed a great two days of bowls in fine weather.
