Narrabri Blues Rugby League Club will host a combined event with headspace during its round six clash on Sunday against the Kootingal Moonbi Roosters.
The Headspace awareness day will help to promote attention to mental health issues in our community.
The day will feature a number of different activities and special guests as well as all four grades of the Narrabri Blues competing against the Roosters.
Narrabri Blues president Michael Gleeson said that the day is important because of the impact that mental health has on a community.
“We have a lot of players in that 18 to 25 year old age group and especially with the conditions we’re in right now and financial restraints we’re just trying to help raise the awareness of mental health,” said Mr Gleeson.
Narrabri will be donning a brand new jersey for the event to help raise awareness of mental health issues.
The jersey will be primarily green with the traditional blue showing in the ‘v’ and the trim of the kit.
An Aboriginal styled painting down the sides of the jersey will complete the outfit.
The day will also include a visit from former Australian Kangaroo and NSW origin representative Mark O’Meley.
