Little Athletics was given a grant from the Narrabri Shire Council for brand new equipment.

Little Athletics’ Cathy Evans thanked the deputy mayor Cr Robert Kneale who attended the event and helped present Little Athletics with the fresh sets of equipment.

“We were in desperate need of new hurdles,” she said.

“Although it looked like we had a lot of hurdles once we spread them out we actually didn’t have that many.”

“We bought white and yellow hurdles some sets of starting blocks for our kids, new discus and shotput sets, new timeclocks and starting flags.

Ms Evans continued and said it was a perfect time for the grant to be given to Little Athletics.

“Little Athletics just changed the standard discus which they use across all Little Athletics competitions across Australia,” she said.

“At the moment we have 80 kids signed up for Little Athletics this season, so they will be making good use of the equipment in no time.”

Cr Robert Kneale attended the event and handed out a number of awards for broken records to the Little Athletics competitors.
