The Cubbaroo Polocrosse Club hosted its annual carnival on the weekend at its home ground, the Wee Waa Showground.

There were 28 teams which competed across eight divisions throughout the event.

One of those teams was a Narrabri Polocrosse Club side which was crowned champions in the A-grade mixed competition.

Narrabri’s team included Makayla Elford, Jessie Ross, Felicity Elford, Trent Mortimer, Graeme Elford and Zane Neil.

The group played three matches throughout the weekend and won them all.

First up Narrabri played Cassilis on Saturday morning and won, before it downed Quirindi later in the day.

On Sunday Narrabri took on its local rivals Galloping Gully Polocrosse Club.

Narrabri won that match to claim the A-grade mixed division.

While the side excelled as a team, two players were at their brilliant best as the Elford sisters Makayla and Felicity were named best number one and three of that division respectively.

Two other Narrabri Polocrosse Club players had success at the carnival.

Junior player Tristan Cole played in the junior A-grade team Mix Ups which won its division.

Sub-junior Skye Manning played on a Cubbaroo team which competed in the A-grade subbies competition.

Skye’s team won its division and she was named best number three.
