The Narrabri men’s bowls Club Singles final was played on Sunday afternoon as Paul Crutcher faced Cameron Yates at the Narrabri Sporties green.

It was Yates who was crowned champion following a convincing win.

The match was played over 29 ends with Yates taking a 32-11 victory over Crutcher.

Yates controlled the game from the outset and enjoyed a healthy lead throughout the entirety of the match.

The young talent took the game to the more experienced Crutcher and at one time held an amazing 23-shot lead.

Yates began to pull away from Crutcher after holding a 4-1 lead on the fifth end.

The 10th end saw Yates score three shots to lead 10-2.

Crutcher slowed Yates down on the 17th end as the trailing bowler scored two shots to narrow the scoreline to 14-6.

However by the 20th end Yates had widened the gap on the scorecard by landing seven unanswered shots to take a 21-6 lead.

By the 25th end Yates had extended his lead out to 28-7.

The 27th end saw Yates enjoy his largest lead of the contest as he took a 30-7 shot lead.

Crutcher attempted to mount a late comeback and on the 28th end scored a game-high four shots to bring the score to 30-11.

But on the 29th end Yates secured his victory scoring two shots and winning the match 32-11.
