It was a mixed day results-wise for the Narrabri Rugby Club’s women’s sevens side on Saturday, but it remained in the hunt to finish first on the seven-team competition ladder.

The Blue Boars welcomed the Tamworth Pirates to Dangar Park for the sides’ two round 16 matches.

For both teams those games were their 19th and 20th respectively in the 2019 season.

The Pirates arrived with just six players but they still managed to come away with a victory in the first game, winning 17-10.

However, the Blue Boars were too strong in game two which they won 24-14.

Those results left Narrabri in second spot, nine points ahead of the third-placed Pirates but 11 points behind league leaders Gunnedah which had a bye in round 16.

In the final two rounds of the season Narrabri has four games to play while Gunnedah has just two remaining, meaning the Blue Boars can still win the minor premiership.
