The second of the two Narrabri Basketball Association seasons for 2019 began this week, with round one matches contested on Tuesday and Wednesday nights.

This season there are four teams in the mixed competition and five in the men’s.

The mixed competition is played on Tuesday nights and includes defending champions Sporties Club (formerly Green Team) and last season’s grand finalists Namoi Hotel, as well as the returning RSL Raptors and the Bowlo Dry Lakers.

The men’s competition is played on Wednesday nights.

Defending champions Telstra Magic and last season’s grand finalists Tatts Titans both returned, as did the Gumboot Ballers and Bowlo Celtics (formerly Thunder).

New side RSL Raptors has entered the competition,

That team includes two players from last season’s champions Magic as well as several familiar faces.

In round one of the mixed season Namoi Hotel played Sporties Club in a grand final rematch, and RSL Raptors played Bowlo Dry Lakers in the other game in that competition.

Namoi Hotel downed Sporties Club 28-14, and Raptors beat Bowlo Dry Lakers 40-18.

In round one of the men’s competition defending champs Magic had the bye.

Last season’s grand finalists Tatts Titans went head-to-head with the competition’s newest side RSL Raptors, before the Bowlo Celtics were scheduled to meet Gumboot Ballers.

Raptors defeated Titans 37-26 in the only men’s match played as the Ballers forfeited to the Celtics.
