The Narrabri Touch Inc’s summer touch football competition began on Monday night.

Twenty teams took to the field in round one with men’s and women’s comps running over two time slots.

The men’s competition has been divided into two pools of six teams while the women’s comp is a single pool of eight teams.

In the men’s pool A DTA Lumberjacks chopped down Mowley’s Maniacs with an 8-2 win, Grumley Builders constructed a 6-1 win over the Gee Bangers and the Ball Busters took down ODAPS 8-6.

In the men’s pool B competition One23 Cafe roasted Stylies in a 6-2 win, Damien Chiplin Plumbing scored a 7-2 victory over Win or Booze and Hidden Talent earned a huge 10-3 win over the Cougars. That Hidden Talent win was thanks to four tries from Lachlan Trindall and a hat trick from Clifford Toomey Jr.

In the women’s competition the Redbacks took a 4-1 victory in their match against Phoenix Two390, BPR clipped the Blue Birds with a 4-2 win, Xtra was too much for the Hounddogs, winning 5-2 and Specialised Civil made an emphatic statement to the rest of the competition with an 11-nil thrashing of the RSL Roulettes.
