An ‘open day’ for people who have been helped by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was held at Rescue Service bases on the weekend. Since 1975, the start of the service, more than 30,000 missions have been undertaken by the Rescue Service, including many across Narrabri Shire, helping to save thousands of lives. No one has ever paid – or been asked to pay – to be assisted by the Service.
