The Boggabri and District Rugby League Club’s Women’s Nines squad finished in fourth place out of six sides in the Country Rugby League Women’s Nines competition.

The women’s tackle comp finished on Saturday afternoon with Boggabri playing its final game against table-topping Werris Creek.

The Kangaroos fought hard but were ultimately beaten 30-12 by the strong Magpies outfit.

Despite the loss Boggabri could take many positives away from its final match including being the only side to score more than eight points against the competition winners.

The Kangaroos could also look back upon a successful three-game campaign with the third highest points in the competition.

Boggabri’s highlight of the competition came in round one when it defeated South West Robins 36-20 in a terrific contest.

The side followed that match with a poor performance against Kootingal who punished the Boggabri team 40-12 before the side took on the Creek in round three.

The Kangaroos will now break till after Christmas and will begin the league tag pre-season shortly after.
