Services have been held across the country to mark Remembrance Day including in Narrabri, Wee Waa and Boggabri.

“At 11am on November 11, 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare,” said Wee Waa High School captain MacKenzie Weaver in her reading at this morning’s service.

“The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month has attained a special significance in the post-war years,” added co-captain Clifford Toomey Jnr.

“We remember all those who have served in all wars, both at home and overseas, for the past 100 years.”

There will be further reports and photos in this week’s editions of The Courier and Wee Waa News.
