Cecile and Dawn Armstrong are the Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club President Pairs winners for 2019 after defeating Carol Demamiel and Lyn Wedesweiler 10-9.
It was a very close game where the score was 2-all, 4-all and 6-all in the early stages.
With one end to go the score was 10-8 to Cecile and Armstrong.
Demamiel and Wedesweiler needed two points on the last end to even the score which they held until Dawn delivered her last bowl that sat jack high.
The final score was 10-9.
Patrons Trophy was played on Wednesday, November 6.
Di Chessels, Heather Caton and Mary Wheeler defeated Di Chessels (who played swinging lead) Trish Allison and Rhonda Welchman 11 ends to seven.
Pat Sheils, Kay Parker and Lorraine Scott defeated Ronnie Dewar, Kay Carolan and Gail Panton 14 ends to four.
Marie Redman and Dawn Armstrong defeated Cindy Neil and Helen Woodward 11 ends to seven.
The last Thursday social day for 2019 was held on Thursday, November 7.
The day was a trophy day and the winners were Gloria Campey, Ronnie Dewar and Mary Wheeler who defeated Di Chessels, Pat Sheils and Helen Woodward by 14 ends to four.
In second place were Olwyn Campey, Jan Etheridge and Rhonda Welchman who defeated Carolynne Tomlinson, Kay Carolan and Eva Sadler 12 ends to six.
Rhonda Fitzgerald, Trish Allison and Dawn Armstrong defeated Carol Demamiel, Berice Eather and Lyn Tuckey on points 19-16 but Tuckey’s team won 10 ends to eight.
