Narrabri’s Russell Everson set off today with another load of household and personal items for victims of the bushfires.

Many people have lost their homes and belongings in the coastal fires.

Mr Everson has undertaken the voluntary collection of donated goods from Narrabri and Wee Waa for delivery to Kempsey Showground where a large assembly and evacuation centre has been established.

“People are donating toiletries, personal items like deodorants and shampoos, clothes, animal  food  – and food for people,” Russell said.

Mr Everson kicked off the collection with a personal donation of $1000 for animal food and covers his own fuel costs.

Today’s trip is his third – he has donated $1000 worth of goods each time – with his trailer packed with needed items.

Anyone with donations for the bushfire victims is invited to phone Russell, 0428 423 262.
