The Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2019-20 Coates Hire Namoi Super Slog auction night is just one night away.

The event, which will be held at the Narrabri Sporties tomorrow evening, will see 60 players entered into a silent auction as the four teams attempt to build a championship-winning roster.

The four franchise’s captains were announced yesterday along with the 60-player strong register.

Unsurprisingly, NDCA War Vets Cup captain Lachlan Cameron and two-time defending champs Tatts’ first grade captain Tom Craig were both chosen to captain a franchise.

Cameron will skipper the Priag Marketing team while Craig was chosen to take the reigns for the Carla Baxter Real Estate team.

Craig’s teammate and Narrabri District Junior Cricket Association chairman Craig Gleeson, a former Tatts first grade captain himself, was chosen to lead the Specialised Civil Services team.

Finally, Western Imperial Razorbacks club president and NDCA MA Connolly Cup skipper Ty Baker will captain the Rose Pest Control team.

The NDCA released its Super Slog auction night player register yesterday which featured 60 players,
a number the association said exhausted all available player nominations.

NDCA officials told The Courier that they were hoping for 48 players to sign up to allow for 12 players for each franchise, however, 60 sign ups was far more ideal to provide each franchise with 15 players which will provide more cover in case of sickness, injury or unavailability for other reasons.
