Narrabri Chamber of Commerce volunteers have erected the traditional Maitland Street Christmas tree for the festive season.

The six metre tree, resplendent with Christmas lights and decorations was assembled and decorated by a team led by Jenny Gale on the Narrabri Post Office lawn on Sunday.

The team was up early on Sunday morning and placed the final star on the tree at lunchtime.

Since 2014 the Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Christmas tree has been an annual feature on the Post Office lawn.

The tree brightens the CBD and will remain up until the end of Christmas festivities.

The Narrabri Post Office lawn will be the venue for this year’s draw of prizes in The Courier ‘shop locally for Christmas’ promotion ‘Thinking Christmas? Buy Local’ on Thursday December 19, late shopping night in Narrabri.

Shoppers at participating stores have the chance to win a share in $3000 in local shopping vouchers. See details below. Santa Claus will be at the draw which will begin at 7.30pm.

The Maitland Street Christmas Fair is also on this night.
